I like it as it is.
I read the critique by Raine angel, I do not understand it.
There are a million things you could pick apart about this, however it is art. That is how you intended it, no more no less...
If its a little blurry there, or a little dark there, that is the intent, it creates overall appeal, and the mood.
If you get obsessed in the technique your purity is dissolved...
this is a simple pure bliss piece that tends to make happy feelings.
I thought it was grandmas candy dish that had set for too long. I immediately tasted strawberry, which is odd.
The art inspired feeling.
On point, great job!

wow this is origami! In the thumbnail I thought it was beads.

They have a nice range of colour but I think you've got a little way to go before you achieve the image you want. :) But remember, this is a critique so I'm picking out those things ;)

First of all, I think the borders on the side are too distracting. I would scale them down. I think in juxtaposition of the origami which appear large in the photo the large chunks of black take away so smaller or no border at all would be better.

The lighting is really harsh. It washes out whole parts of the images, renders the shiny parts of the image very pixelated, and increases the blur in some areas. If you're using a flash I suggest putting a thin piece of tissue or wax paper over it. it's an old trick someone on DA taught me! It allows the light to come through but it softens it a bit and lessens or eliminates these harsh effects.

If it's natural light you can change the ISO settings on your camera or even prop up white paper around the subject to bounce the light and experiment with that.

The focus is a little strange, it's hard for me to tell what part of the image you want me to look at. I'm not sure if you cropped it this way or if that's how it turned out, if you used macro or not... but I would experiment a bit more with these things!

I think it's a really interesting subject and has the potential to be a really eye catching image with the right tweaking. Try re-shooting it again and again! Especially if this is something you like. For me getting better with photography meant experimenting with people's suggestions on the same image idea over and over. That way you have something to compare with and you can settle on a style or a combination of styles that you feel translate the image the way you'd like. Photoshop can do a lot of this fixing up for you but honestly, I think it's better to learn the skills to do it yourself and avoid extra steps! Get it the way you want it the first time ;)

Good luck!

really intruiging photo, what exactly are the little parcels?
I really like the focus and the lighting, makes the photo appear quite dreamy.

They are called 'Lucky Stars'

I think it's amazing that you can fold a small strip of paper into a star.
