Description

Borders, no borders?
Is the glare bad?

Note~
I didn't use zoom or anything. My camera was right up to it. :)
I actually bumped into it a couple times with my lens. ^^;
I'm not allergic and they don't scare me. I've held them before. They tickle inside your hands.

Comments are appreciated... thanks! :)

Caution! Is the first thing that comes to mind with this piece. Firstly; I want to commend you for not only the guts to get such a detailed shot but also to do it with such a nice composition. I like the position of the nest in the image; it places the yellow jacket almost center. The crispness of the center of the nest and the yellow jacket are exquisite and so clear. It's wonderful that you are giving people the rare opportunity to get so close to something that many people fear so greatly. It gives the viewer a chance to see the beauty behind the dangererous steriotype that blinds them. The brilliant color is pretty.

If i had to give you some advice for the future using this shot as an example, I would start off by possibly finding a way to make your camera just slightly more stable - this will help with sharpening up the outer parts or the image. This can also be helped with photoshop, [ like stated in another critique or yours ]. If you do have it; my biggest advice is sit down with it one day and pull up some practice photo's and go to town. Learn anything and everything you can related to photo-rendering and editing and play with sharpness and contrast to help with that. I would also, move my camera slightly to get a nice angle down the body of the yellow jacket and show a little more of the natural markings of the insect. I might also have cropped the right side the image better. The slight blur is a little distracting.

Overall Nice work.Thanks for sharing!
