Something a little different from my 'norm' Yes, this is one of my photographs. Inspired by many deviants and other photographers/artists out there. I LOVE text on photographs. Critiques
The things I like most about this photo are definately the way that the contrast from bottom to top. The bottom, so dark with the roots and the black, then fading up into this fantastic bright green, then up, up into yellow, and finally topped with white.
The light on the top is very interesting and being so out of focus actually looks like sparkles, which is a neat concept.
I also really like the quote. Not only is it a beautiful quote, but it's positioned well. I generally dislike quotes on the middle of photos but positioned a little lower the white actually contrasts nicely with the green and black and balances out the white at the top.
The only things I would possibly add is some kind of border to give it a bit more of a finished touch. Even just a light streak of white or black around the outside, nothing fancy. Also perhaps turning the contrast up just a little to give a bit more impact.
A beautiful image + a beautiful quote = a very lovely piece.
