Artist's CommentsEdit: Cropped and adjusted curves after it was suggested. I swam around for at least an hour in the middle of the lake. It was nice. This was basically an experiment with manual settings. I'm so used to having everything on automatic ( yeah, I know... ) For the past couple of weeks I've only been on manual, so it's a real challenge to get every shot on a decent setting. Commented are appreciated. Comments
it's a great shot, but it could use some work imho.
first of all the DA watermark, it's just horible, makes it imposible to apreciate the shot. secondly, it looks like it could use some curves to bring out the contrast in the foreground, and colours in the trees. what i love about this shot is the treeline. also, maybe crop out the lower part of the image, it is dirty, and detracts from the image. -- modern day has brought us many gifts, gifts no-one would reject, and yet they come at a price, a hidden one, but when alleviated of it, we see it. A really nice image. But it still is a bit boring. Maybe some more color and contrast adjustments would improve the image a bit.
-- meshuga. Absolutely beautiful.

I think this shot would really improve with some more curve adjustment. The blue part of the sky is a little washed out compared with the reflection. Here is a good article with more information on curve adjustments: [link]
The composition of this shot could really be strengthened if you cropped it so the horizon isn't in the center but on one of the lines of the rules of thirds. This could also be a solution to your washed out sky but even if you do decide to crop make sure to do another curves adjustment.
It's also a slightly blurry I'd recommend sharpening the photo a bit to bring back some of the detail of the reeds and the tree.
If you get the opportunity to go to this location too it would be nice to see a photo of this scene maybe 45 minutes to an hour earlier so there's a bit of light shinning on the reeds as well which would really make them stand out and give the shot a greater impact.
